My girlfriend and I were on this tour with guide Geri and driver Kris. I am a geologist and had some idea about the nature of Iceland - I participated in a UNESCO conference when the Reykjanes Geopark was approved years ago. But Geri\'s lecture fascinated me with his erudition and I learned new things. His knowledge of various topics (from plate tectonics and volcanism, to the vegetation, climate of Iceland and the local culture) is truly impressive! I will recommend this wonderful tour of Bus Travel to friends!
Really really really baddddddddddddd experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I booked four trips through BusTravel Iceland official website. I confirmed with them about the free pickup point for the trips on their website page. Their reply is as enclosed. After confirming that I will be picked up at Bus Stop 12, I booked those trips. However on my last trip to "Ice Cave and Glacial Hiking", I realized that the meeting point is not as stated in the email they replied previously. Though they had "Skaftafell" mentioned in their title, we thought we would be driven there by the shuttle bus from BUS Stops because of their email. We were totally misled by their previous email. We asked for refund but they refused and didn\'t even apologize for the misleading message they sent previously. Is there any way to commit lawsuit or push this case? I posted a lot of travelling photos in Iceland on Chinese social media and received a lot of feedback. But now I am considering posting this bad experience. It really made me and my friend frustrated. We are students and this travelling fee in Iceland is actually a very large amount for us. We came here because we love here but now we feel disappointed because of this tourism company.
I attended this trip on February 28th, and it completely ruined my wonderful mood in Iceland! Despite the good driver who handled the bus very well and the friendly passengers, with whom I made some new friends, the tour guide was really terrible. Here are the reasons why I don\'t recommend you to join this trip: 1. The itinerary was unreasonable. Not only did we not see the Stjórnarfoss waterfall, but the last waterfall was visited at night, around nine o\'clock when it was too dark to see anything without using our phone flashlights to walk ahead. 2. The tour guide lacked professional experience. Just focusing on the visit to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, he didn\'t provide any historical information about it, which was the case for many other parts of the trip as well. Instead of learning about the Icelandic landscape, I got to know how he came to Iceland, what he thinks we should do as "good tourists," which I didn\'t sign up for. 3. The tour guide was very "self-centered" and not suitable for the job. Initially, at 7 o\'clock when we gathered, the bus played music (which was fine), but at night, after ten hours of travel when everyone was exhausted and some were dozing off, he still played upbeat music. He even said, "You can do anything, couples can kiss, but don\'t sleep or use your phones; it\'s meaningless." Later, he told us about how he woke up another group to see the Northern Lights because they had missed them due to sleeping. Without asking for our opinions, he stopped the bus in a very late hour to wait for the Northern Lights. Some passengers didn\'t get off the bus due to the cold weather, and as everyone returned to the bus, he immediately began to make snide remarks. "Do you know who\'s stupid? Those who don\'t get off to see the Northern Lights but sit on the bus using their phones\' light." Many passengers, not just me, felt deeply offended. In conclusion, this man is not suitable to be a tour guide. And I feel like the fool here. I traveled all the way to Iceland, spent a lot on flights and accommodation, just to find peaceful places and enjoy the scenery, not to be lectured by a man who didn\'t even pay me about how to be a "good tourist" in his eyes.
A great trip made even more special by the amazing very knowledgeable guide Addi. We were never rushed, plenty of time given at each stop/attraction with really good information and history provided. Not to be missed.
